Born on May 30, 1995, Mathis Picard is a French-Malagasy pianist, composer, producer, and bandleader based in New York. Trained in both jazz and classical music from an early age, he crafts a unique musical universe shaped by his multicultural influences.
Passionate about the power of music and its emotional impact, Mathis started playing the piano at the age of 3, quickly developing an instinctive and expressive approach to his art. Today, he shares this passion worldwide through several projects: a solo project, a trio, and his ensemble, The Sound Orchestra.
Recognized for his sensitivity and talent, Mathis has collaborated with musical legends such as Ron Carter, Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, Lillias White, Cyrille Aimée, Lee Ritenour, Herlin Riley, Braxton Cook, Veronica Swift, and many more.
Blending tradition and modernity, Mathis Picard pushes the boundaries of jazz, inviting us on a vibrant and inspiring musical journey.
