BIG BAND TRAINING

— This program is entirely dedicated to the practice of the Big Band, through the study of the genre, under the direction of Stéphane Guillaume and Claude Egéa. The objective is also to play these repertoires live. Several concerts will be organized as part of this training.

— In previous years, the Big Band has been working on the repertoires of:

• Thelonious Monk and Pat Metheny (2019-2020)
• Count Basie and Herbie Hancock (2018-2019)
• Duke Ellington and Bob Mintzer (2017-2018)
• Bill Hollman and Jaco Pastorius (2016-2017)
• Thad Jones and Mel Lewis, then Gil Evans (2015-2016)
• Count Basie and Duke Ellington (2014-2015)

— The training takes place every Tuesday evening, from October to June. – 102h

The candidate must :

• Be at least 18 years old*
• Have at least 7 years of instrumental practice*
• No musical diploma is required
• Training for wind instrument only

*the candidate is allowed to fill a derogation request during your online application.

Annual tuition fees: 1500 euros.

But if you use a personal fund to finance your studies, the CMDL gives you financial support by lowering the tuition fees to 1000 euros a year.

Depending on the personal situation of the trainee (performer, artist-author, job seeker or others) various funding bodies for continuing education can be contacted. We invite you to inquire directly with the AFDAS or the OPCO on which your employer depends. You can also turn to your Region or your Pôle Emploi advisor.
