Driven by a strong commitment to passing on knowledge and to the promotion of jazz and improvised music, musicians Didier Lockwood, Benoît Sourisse, André Charlier, and Managing Director Chantal Charlier founded this higher education institution in 2000. Its mission is to support young musicians on their path to a professional career, while also enabling already active professionals to further develop their artistic journey.

The CMDL welcomes you with a range of professional and degree-granting programs, located just outside Paris, close to the Évry-Courcouronnes RER D train station.
