VOCALS – MANU DOMERGUE

Manu Domergue has always conducted his musical training between voice and instrument (the French horn, then the marching horn, a rare instrument commonly called “Mellophone”), convinced that one did not go without the other.

After classical studies and a thorough exploration of Jazz at the JAV (Francesco CASTELLANI), in California (with Roger LETSON, thanks to the Fulbright scholarship), and in Paris (CNSM, Riccardo DEL FRA, Glenn FERRIS, ..), regular trips to Mali (Lanaya, Franco-Malian project), partnerships of all colors (Mônica PASSOS, Roy HARGROVE, MAGMA, Large Ensemble of Carine BONNEFOY …), he created RAVEN, a quartet that focuses its repertoire on the theme of the crow where he sings in English, in French, plays and tells.

The group won in 2013 the first prize and the audience prize of the Crest Jazz Vocal and released two albums. Attached to stories, Manu Domergue learned the art of storytelling (Abbi PATRIX, Pépito MATÉO, etc.), and worked as a musician/singer on stage storytelling shows (Jacques COMBE, Rachid BOUALI, etc.).

He is a member of the MOBILE HOME project, which mixes artistic and linguistic with people from all over the world, and has been teaching at the Didier Lockwood Music Center since 2015.
